Learn the Basics
This guide will teach you how to play Star Cluster Ball in just a few minutes. Includes a quick play summary, visual examples, and step-by-step walkthroughs.
Quick Play: Start in 3 Steps
- Place all balls behind the Play Line. Decide which Side each player takes.
- Take turns rolling or flicking balls onto the table, aiming for Astrolabe Positions.
- Score points by landing balls, build Chains for bonuses, and use Grouping strategically.
Keep turns moving: your turn ends if you miss, produce a Grouping, or commit a foul.
Visual Guide
Key elements of the table:
- Astrolabe Positions: Zones with slots for scoring balls.
- Play Line: The line you must not cross when shooting.
- Grouped Balls: Non-scoring balls that can block or line up combos.
- Chains: Balls of the same colour placed adjacent in a position.
Example Turn: Step-by-Step
Scenario: Player A (Blue) and Player B (Red) are taking turns.
- Player A shoots: Lands in Position 2a → 2 points. Turn continues.
- Player A shoots again: Lands in Position 2b next to their first ball → forms a Chain → bonus +2 points. Turn continues.
- Player A shoots: Ball lightly nudges Player B's ball, which rolls back to the play area and does not land in a scoring position → no foul. Player A continues their turn. Player B adds the ball back to their hand.
- Player A shoots again: Lands in Position 3a → 5 points. Turn continues.
- Player A shoots: Ball knocks Player B's ball into Position 2d and Player A's ball goes into 2c → Player A scores points from their own balls, turn ends (foul). Player B scores from the displaced ball and takes control.
Gameplay Tips
- Prioritize high-value Positions, but don’t neglect placement for future turns.
- Use Grouped balls strategically to block opponent positions.
